Whatever your situation might be, just remember that everything that a debt settlement company might do for you, you can do for yourself virtually for free. Basically, you might want to visit a credit counsellor, or just talk to your credit card company.

I am unemployed and my benefit period is running out - is there an extension?
At the moment unemployed persons are entitled to 79 weeks of benefits. Federal research shows that approx. 1.5 million Us citizen might use up their benefit rights by the end of this year. At the moment congress is considering giving additional 13 weeks to the basic benefit period, but this hasn't been voted yet.
